- Fly to Luwuk (Airport LUW): Syukuran Aminuddin Amir Airport (LUW) in Luwuk has flights from Makassar, Jakarta, and Bali. From Jakarta or Bali, usually have to transit in Makassar.
Daily flights from Makassar take about 1-2 hours. - Public Ferry & Speedboat : From Luwuk Port, fast boats/ferries sail to Peleng and Banggai Laut.
A public ferry to Peleng’s Leme Leme port departs around 14:00, a 2-hour ride.
(For faster travel, charter a private speedboat.) - Overland Options : From Ampana/Togean Islands you can drive (~6 to 8 hours) to Luwuk. From Gorontalo, boats reach Pagimana port, then ~1h by road to Luwuk.

After Luwuk, take a ferry or speedboat to the Banggai archipelago:

- Paisu Pok Lake – On Peleng Island, this beautiful lake has the bluest, clearest water you can imagine. Locals of Banggai paddle wooden boats here (no engines allowed) so the water stays ultra clear. Lake Paisupok is on the most visited attraction on Banggai islands!
- Paisu Batango Lagoon – A shallow spring in the jungle, where fresh spring water meets the ocean. You can swim and relax in its emerald pools, trust me its worth it!
- Poganda Beach – Soft white sand and palm trees. Almost everyone I know have done snorkeling just off shore here because its really that beautiful underwater! Great for sunset photos too.
- Susendeng Cave & Batu Banang – Limestone caves on Peleng with bright blue pools. (Access requires a short trek.)
- Mandel Beach – A remote white sand beach on Peleng, surprising deserted most of the times.
- Weer Molino (secret island retreat) – Weer Molino (in Dondo village, Banggai, Central Sulawesi) is a small, coastal spring with crystal clear waters perfect for snorkeling and beach camping!

Banggai Laut Beaches & Snorkeling
Banggai Laut (south of Peleng) is famed for islands and coral reefs:

- Bontolan Beach – Crystal waters ideal for snorkeling. Its home to the endemic Banggai cardinalfish (a small species found only here).
- Oyama Beach – A tiny hidden cove accessible only by dinghy. It has powdery sand and turquoise shallows.
- Bald Cape (Batu) & White Cliffs – The northern tip of Banggai Laut features dramatic white-rock beaches and natural stone arches.

- Popisi Hill (Teletubbies Hill)- Lush grassy hill with 360° views (nickname from nearby Sombori similarity) and it has got views like Raja Ampat!
- Pasir Panjang beach – A long stretch of soft sand, very quiet. Bring snacks and spend a day in solitude.
Getting there: Small boats from Salakan port to Mbuang-Mbuang. Slow boat ~7–8 hrs (100k IDR), or speedboat ~2 hrs (4M IDR per boat).
Travel Tips for Luwuk Banggai
Money: only in big cities like Luwuk & Banggai Laut. Better bring enough cash to avoid suffering later!
Transport: rent a motorcycle Rp100k / day or car + driver Rp800k-Rp1, 2 million/day.
